What we do in Cloud Data Services:
Our client is the world’s largest travel website, and we have a LOT of data! With over 1 billion reviews, opinions, photos, and videos, reaching an audience of hundreds of millions worldwide each month. We are a data driven company, and our data infrastructure forms the foundation.
Our team is responsible for building the tools that unlock that data across product. We build orchestration tools, scheduling tools, and ETL generation tools to enable cloud migrations and support petabyte scale operations.
What you’ll do:
- Take responsibility for the quality of the code produced.Take responsibility for all aspects of software engineering, from design to implementation, QA, and maintenance
- Operate across our evolving technology stack - Java, Kotlin, React, SQL, Spark, Snowflake and more
- Implement new features in a powerful and widely used ETL orchestration tool.
- Investigate and use Cloud Technologies to deploy our software
- Integrate with production Data Sources and Peta-byte scale data lake
- Collaborate closely with Product, Data Engineering, Machine Learning, Analytics as well as other functional teams to define feature specifications and develop high-quality deliverables for our customers
- Work with technical leadership to make strategic technology decisions

What we are looking for:
- 5+ Years Experience as a professional engineer
- BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
- A strong history of development with Java or a JVM-based Language.
- Proven record of innovation via non-trivial solutions to day-to-day problems
- Experience developing for large-scale, full life-cycle, software applications
- Experience developing complete JVM-based (or equivalent) applications, preferably for large distributed systems.

Our team is building out a next generation Machine Learning Platform for all data scientists and machine learning engineers across all of Project’s brands. Our mission is to empower data scientists to work independently and scale their productivity to enable broader and deeper utilization of machine learning techniques to help improve the business performance. Clients hosts over 400 million monthly active visitors and operates across multiple cloud environments. Our data is at the petabyte scale, requiring a scalable, efficient, and reliable machine learning platform to support it.
We are seeking a talented, experienced, Software Engineer to help develop and integrate machine learning models into backend systems and infrastructure. Candidates will create backend components, services, and APIs to support the deployment, scalability, and operation of models and solutions.
We leverage Kubernetes and a variety of open source software (e.g. Kubeflow, Seldon, Istio, Mlflow) to train and deploy over one hundred models serving a billion requests per day.
What you will do:
- Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers to build backend systems and integrate models into them.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams of data scientists, frontend engineers, and product managers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services required for hosting, serving, or connecting to machine learning models or AI-powered applications.
- Design and implement APIs to facilitate communication between client systems and machine learning components, and to expose machine learning functionalities to other areas of the site.
- Ensure APIs are well-documented and provide a clear interface for interacting with components of the machine learning platform.

What you will do:
- Seek out new opportunities to apply data science and machine learning to the business (e.g., personalized recommendations, NLP, customer modeling) across all channels (e.g., Web, email, paid marketing)

What you will do:
- Develop across our evolving technology stack - we’re using Python, Java, Kubernetes, Apache Spark, Postgres, Redis, ArgoCD, Argo Workflow, Seldon, MLFlow and more. We are migrating into AWS cloud and adopting many services that are available in that environment.
- You will have the opportunity to learn many cutting edge technologies around Machine Learning Platform. You will push the boundaries, to test, develop and implement new ideas, technology and opportunities, and be well rewarded and recognized for doing so
- Take responsibility for all aspects of software engineering, from design to implementation, QA, maintenance, and support
- Touch code at every level – from the UI, backend microservices, database, big data processing, operations, to CD/CI automation

Who You Are:

For the technical:
This is not your ordinary application. You will be working with Silicon Valley insiders that have built database internals (Postgres), and enterprise-scale systems such as Salesforce and Siebel systems.
